ABOUT TIM JOHNSON

Hi, I’m Tim.
I’m a marketer, storyteller, triathlete, and dad. My career has gone from Hollywood film sets to Seoul agency boardrooms to building my own candy company in Austin.
I started out in Burbank as an intern at Silver Pictures/Warner Bros., assisting the producers behind The Matrix series, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard and V for Vendetta. After graduating from the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Advertising, I joined Legend 3D as a visual effects assistant during the 3D film boom, working on movies like Transformers and The Smurfs.
Then I took a leap and moved to Seoul to teach English. I saw that local businesses struggled to reach the city’s foreign community, so I built an advertising platform to help them do it. Seoul is also where I met my wife, and where our first two kids were born.
Korea is where my global marketing career took shape. At Edelman Korea, I managed accounts for Samsung, Hyundai Motors, HP and Marina Bay Sands. Later, Geometry Global, Ogilvy & Mather’s creative arm, brought me in to lead digital accounts. There I pitched and won Google/YouTube’s campaign for the BTS documentary Burn the Stage.
Korea is also where I caught the endurance bug. I’ve now finished four Ironman 70.3 races, and training helps me clear my head and stay sharp.
In 2018, my family and I moved to Texas, where I’ve worked in real estate and consumer technology. My life as an athlete eventually turned into a business. I wanted electrolytes without the sugar, so I co-founded Salty Batches, a sugar-free electrolyte hard candy for athletes and everyday life. We launched in February 2026.
These days I’m usually on the bike, chasing the next race, or out exploring Austin with my family.
